Offset Printing

High-quality CMYK and Pantone printing for medium to large runs of cartons, cards and tags.

What it is

Offset printing transfers ink from a plate to a rubber blanket and then onto the sheet, producing sharp, consistent color at scale. It is the workhorse for folding cartons, paper cards, hang tags and paper bags where quantity justifies plate setup. ZKPACKS supports offset printing with CMYK process color, Pantone spot color and a range of coated and uncoated stocks.

Limitations

  • — Plate setup makes short runs less economical than digital printing
  • — Traditional inks need drying time, which can slow very fast production schedules
  • — Textured or heavily coated stocks can reduce fine detail sharpness

Production risks

  • — Color variation between runs if brand color targets are not fixed with a Pantone reference
  • — Ink marking or set-off when sheets are stacked before the ink is fully dry
  • — Slow ink absorption on coated stocks can affect density and drying

Sustainability considerations

Offset printing works with paper-based materials that may be recyclable subject to material specification, local collection infrastructure and any lamination, foil or coating applied.
